It is sad to see luperon always taking one step forward and two steps back. Reguardless of you opinion of the Yacht Club and it's owner, it is nice to have alternatives. A problem with Luperon is there is not really much to do. It seems that the owners of establishments are more interested in driving each other out of business than they are in creating a variety of nice places for visitors so that people enjoy and want to come back. Variety is the spice of life.
As far as mangroves are concerned it seems that the best strategy for a developer is just bull doze them like Gunter did at the "some day marina" on the south side. That used to be a beautiful mangrove shore until they came in and destroyed it in two days just as the government was changing hands. But where there are no longer mangroves there is no need to pay off the environmental police. some people are smarter than others
