Dress Code at Luperon Beach Resort - and hotel blocks

Can anyone tell me what the dress code is for Luperon Beach Resort restaraunts?  I figure the men are to wear long pants.  Can they wear sandles or do they have to wear closed toe shoes?  Can the women wear tank tops or do they have to have their shoulders covered.  Can the women wear sandles?

Are any hotel blocks in the resort better than others?  If so, which ones should I request or stay away from? (Couple in their late 40's from Canada).

Thanks for your help.

We have stayed there 3 times. For breakfast and lunch.... No shirt, No shoes, No service. sandals, shorts OK, no bathing suits. The regular evening meal, the same, but a little more formal if you go to one of the special dining rooms.... Not much more, but  an opportunity for you ladies to dress up .

For entertainment... You can veg out on the beach and beach bar all week, or get out and see something of the DR. 20 K West is Columbus' first village with both his and some Taino relics. 40K East and S are the waterfalls. 28 in all. Only the lower 7 for all but the very fit. Great day.  2-3 hours inland are Constanza and Jarabacoa, two of the most fertile and beautiful valleys you can find anywhere in the world. At 2000 up to 5000' the days are lovely and the nights cool. Then a 3 day mule/ hike to the summit at 10500'

Safety.... We have never felt threatened anywhere, any time of night. Just dont be stupid and drink way too much with lots of cash

Enjoy
