Haulout ???

On the front page there is a note about haulout equip. arriving..... does anyone know where that marina is, or the size (width) of the equipment? might want to haul in the next year or so when I get there.

Thank you in advance,

Dieder

Haulout ???

The marina is Tropical Marina and the lifting gear is quite large. Gunther was saying that the smaller boats might be too small - like 30ft or less. He has the haulout equipment here and hopes to be using it soon.

If I see Gunther I will write more.

Haulout ???

If you drive, walk, dinghy over there, you will see that the ramp is wide enough for almost width of catamaran

Haulout ???

I caught up with Gunther at last. His haulout machinery is a con-o-lift. It can take boats from 30 to 65ft long. He hopes to be hauling after mid March. One problem that he has had is the very wet weather that we have experienced recently as he can't cement when the ground is wet.

The link to the con-o-lift site is http://www.con-o-lift.com/

Haulout ???

Damn, they just dug it all up again. What a mess. About the same as many Luperon streets.  Don't understand why. Any reasonable Civil Eng can design this, and, more important, anyone can do site inspections on a daily basis, to ensure all the steps are being followed.

My son, a Civil, put a new floor on his house, and learned a huge amount from the inspector. In this case, the design revolves around the amount of rebar, and the thickness of concrete. If designed properly, easy to monitor.

Actually impressed at how thoroughly they are doing the streets
